Chapter summary of "Words Meaning"

               In Chapter two, "Words Meaning," of  his expository of Eating Animals, Jonathan Foer 

addresses the preservation and restoration of animal population and the actual process of how animals are raised to become food. Foer argues that by eating animals people are forgetting about the fact that animals are part of the community and  food production used too much of propaganda to mislead consumers.
The author lists many analytical professions like Anthropodenial to raise  the question, what is an Animal, and what it takes for animals to be define as animal. He points out that once humans were considered animals. Foer wants to make the readers be in the position of the animals, be in a tight place where an animal can't move and die slowly. Chickens are the main animals that Foer made the most facts. He stated that all this years, there are only two types of chickens in the world of factory farming. Broiler and layers. Broilers are the chickens used only for meat, but layers are chickens used only for laying eggs. In Foer's argument, it is better to be the layers than the broilers because once in the chickens live experience a little space for them to lay eggs. Also, Foer introduce the "bycatch" of sea creatures.

He believes that people, catch different types of fish by accident but for purposes. Foer, also point out that if the sea creatures are caught by "accident" then why are they in a sushi restaurant, ready to be eaten?. In conclusion, Foer doesn't want factory farming or eating animals to end, but to make factory owners and the government to realized that every human beings deserved a good death, not a painful in-human ways.

"Lord of the Flies"

                 The Pig's Head also known as the "Lord of the Flies" was created as a gift for the beastie by Jack and his hunters. However this idea was just a hoax  that represent Fear from within and loss of Inocense. In the story "Lord of the Flies" by Malcolm Gladwell, The evolution of attitude and emotions towards the characteristic of every boys on the island changed dramatically. Throughout the story, Fear had been a factor for most of the boys especially the "littluns". With this in mind they believed that their is a beast on the island. This miss-understanding leads through scavagery and loss of innocence for most of them. One of the choir boys named Simon was introduced by the author to be the contrast for the "Lord of the Flies". He is a wise vivid boy who has an open minded attitude towards everything and most importantly he's the only one who can "talk and understand" the the pig's head. He believed that there are no monsters on the Island but its within every human beings. "Fancy Thinking that the beast was something you could hunt, and kill... You knew, didn't you? I'm part of you? Close, Close, Close! Im the reason why its no go? Why things are what they are?" (143)

The conversation of Simon and "The Lord of the Flies" created clearance of why the boys changed to being an intellectual English guys to being merciless hunters. This also represent that there are no such thing as a "beast" but a beast can be formed through a persons behaviour and attitudes towards others. "I know there isn't no beast- not with claused and all of that, i mean... but i know there isnt no fear either ... unless we get frightened on people (104). At first, the beast was nothing but the imaginary of the "littleluns". they give their fear a name and a shape in their mind.
 In conclusion, Gladwell introduced a dark society. The "Lord of the Flies" tries to lead the kids to hell. The prolong stay on the island create a devastating environment prone to disaster.

              Explain the symbolism of why jack wanted to confront the "beastie".?
    Jack wanted to confront the "beastie" to show that he is not afraid of anything. Also he is trying to portrait that if he kill the "monster" he would have the vote of becoming the leader and to show that he is the better leader than Ralph. Jack always wanted to be the official leader on the island, but Ralph got the job and now Jack wants to get the vote and trust of the other people that voted Ralph. "Yes, the beast is a hunter only- Shut up! the next thing is that we couldn't kill it and the next is that Ralph said my hunters are no good" (126). Jack uses Name Calling to destroy Ralphs control over the boys, also the Jack wants his peers to feel safe under his control. Jack is a mature guy who wants to survive in any shape and form. An example of this is when he and his hunters hunt for a pig to get some meat in order to survive.

Writing Question: Evaluate the importance of having a leader. What would be the characteristic of a leader, and what does it take to become the leader.

      

                                                  
               Having a leader is the most important aspect on surviving. Also a leader will become the motivationer and a role model for its subject. a leader must also express itself, knowing the responsibility handed to him and accept and adopt to the environment to not discourage its people. A good example of a good leader is Jack from the T.V show Lost, after the plane crash, Rose believed that his husband is still alive and all she did was to stare the ocean, like shes waiting. with this in mind, Jack came to her to talked about accepting the fact that her husband might be dead. A leader should have an open-minded decision about everything and everyone. A leader should also not be biased, and  has to look at the whole before making a decision. Also a good leader always makes the best decision whether if its good or bad. An example, a group of people are stranded on an island, concerning a plane crash. The story portraits the action of being unorganized and Vulnerable. However, Jack had an open-minded action to saved some of the people who needed help. It takes responsibility and knowledge to become a leader.With this in mind, Jack have the best resume on taking the job of being  the leader.

 It was a dark cold evening In the year 1997,  when Jenifer had just bought her first house in Colorado. She  didn't have a lot of money but had enough to buy the smallest low quality house that the former house holders were forced to sell. It was an unknown reason of why they sold the house. Jenifer just had his second born child, George and had to give attention to her one year old little babygirl Jessie. She was a single working mom, who did everything she could to give a good life to her children. Three years later, Jenifer  decided to go back to work in order to pay the bills and earn money to buy food for her children. She had to leave her children with a babysitter, her neighbor, Sally. Sally was a very quite girl who had already live in the residence for 3 years. Jenifer, didn't know anyone because she had no time to meet everyone in the neighborhood but Sally. She had no choice but to trust her. 
            When Jenifer left the house the babysitter stared at the children and did nothing else but stared. A couple of hours later, she turned around and started looking at the video camera that Jenifer put to keep an eye of her children. A couple of more  hours passed sally started to carry George in a way that she wanted to do something but it remains a mystery. Jenifer finally came back from work went straight to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. She then realize that Sally is nowhere to be found. The kids are crying, then when Jenifer carried George, someone touches her shoulder, but when she turned around, their was nobody there.
       Following days have passed, Jenifer haven't seen Sally. She was curious on what might happened to her, so she asked people if they have seen Sally. Surprisingly nobody knew who Sally was. Therefore, Jenifer went to her house and find out the mystery behind Sally. When Jenifer finally reach Sally's place, she knock on the door and rang the doorbell then said "HELLO! SALLY?!", nobody answered.
                       "Why, are you knocking ?" Peter, the old man who lives in the same neighborhood as Jenifer asked, 
                         "Do you know Sally?" she replied in a worried voice. 
                          "Sally is dead." Peter replied in a sad tone
                           "What?! how?" Jenifer replied shockingly.
                             "i heard that, she was walking by herself one cold night, and a drunk man driving                                  home and with all the fog, she didn't notice Sally walking across and bamn, Sally                                  was just laying down on the street dead."
                               "what happened to the guy?" asked jenifer.
                                 "he sold his house to you." said Peter
                                   "WHAT?! Impossible! I bought my house 3 years ago and i just talked to Sally                                       this month," Jenifer replied in a shouting tone.
                                       "when did she died?" Jenifer added
                                       "3 years ago.!" Peter said.

               Hi, my name is Ji Soo Hypnar and I'm 15 years old. If you guys are wondering about the space in my first name and I'm telling you now that I'm wondering the same thing. I was born in the Philippines and I still have a lot of things to learn. I moved here when I was in 6th grade with my loving family. If you guys are wondering what I missed the most about the great country of Philippines, my answer would be everything. I was born and raised there for 11 years. It sucks to leave everything behind but i think its worth it because now i'm with my family. My mom is the world to me, without her I won't be able to say all of the stuff that i'm going to type on this blog.This blogs title is Real because it represent what I believe in which is that being real will get you real friends and real reality about life. I enjoy life and I don't worry about people who dislikes me because "haters gonna hate" and it's also part of life. I'm very interested in playing video games, some people think that i'm a nerd but in reality I believe that the word to describe me is a gamer. I like every-sports but golf. My favorite sports team are the Detroit Lions (football), SF Giants (baseball) and the San Jose Sharks (hockey). I've never been to Hawaii, nor snowboard, and nor skydive. My goal in life is to live with no regrets. I still have no plans about my future because every year my mind would change. Example: I've always wanted to be an astronaut but when i saw the trailer for the movie Gravity my mind changed rapidly.
